In 2021, Lehan writes that after his father Palith—Edna Group’s Deputy Chairman and 55% owner of Ceylon Weighing Machines—died in 2005, his mother Shanika, an Edna director, received about $2,000 a month despite Palith’s majority ownership. Lal, entrusted to return the assets he’d agreed to oversee, never did. Lehan holds Lal’s wife Deepa and her brother Jeewaka responsible for misleading 38,111 ETI Finance depositors before its collapse, citing reports of foreign accounts and depositors’ claims that assets were shifted to their children overseas—the same pattern, in his view, as Lal’s. While pursuing justice, Lehan builds Cyberspace Command, cuts ties, and turns his Captain’s Log into a book. Across 1,069,961 words, Chocolate Robbers records the year rage became a method.
