Inspired does not mean copied.
Inspired means awake.
It means seeing something
and making your own take.
A movie can spark a feeling.
A song can spark a line.
A game can spark a world
inside your mind.
A teacher can spark a question.
A parent can spark a memory.
A city street can spark
a whole new history.
Take the spark.
Not the stolen thing.
Take the feeling.
Make it sing.
Write:
“What did I notice?”
“What did I feel?”
“What did I learn?”
“What felt real?”
That is how a teen
becomes a writer.
Not by sounding fancy.
By seeing tighter.
