Tariffs, Reciprocity, and Why Harassing a Diplomat Makes Me Furious
ஏப்ரல் 8, 2025
Tariff retaliation framed as common-sense reciprocity; diplomat harassment condemned, alongside personal claims about low sweating and disbelief at “fiction” framing I lay out tariff retaliation as plain reciprocity, then I condemn the harassment of a diplomat and what it says about a country's seriousness
Defending Julie Chung Over Sri Lankan Tariff Criticism
It's sad that Julie Chung's being tortured (systematically, persistently harassed) by the Sri Lankan government, the ministers over the tariffs. There's nothing she can do about it. And those tariffs are common sense.
In fact, go ask any of the 193 leaders running a country:
"if you have a country with 88% tariffs on your products (exports), what would you do to their products (imports)? "
Answer:
You will counter or retaliate with tariffs against them
Or else, otherwise, you will just, give them a discounted tariff of 44% to be nice, so they can adjust
Please stop bullying, harassing and criticizing her, she is a diplomat, you don't have a right to treat her with cruelty.
