Responsive Testing and Removing the Pentagram from the Site
ஏப்ரல் 4, 2021
The day is mostly technical cleanup: testing narrow-window responsiveness, shrinking the menu and company-name typography, and deciding to remove the upside-down pentagram logo from the site in favor of a cleaner, more minimal look.
Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble”
"And the saddest fear comes creeping in
That you never loved me or her, or anyone, or anything, yeah"
<3
Taylor Swift --I Knew You Were Trouble:
[Music video spoken part:]
I think - I think when it's all over,
It just comes back in flashes, you know?
It's like a kaleidoscope of memories.
It just all comes back. But he never does.
I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen.
It's not really anything he said or anything he did,
It was the feeling that came along with it.
And the crazy thing is I don't know if I'm ever gonna feel that way again.
But I don't know if I should.
I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright.
But I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you toward someone who looks so much like an angel when he smiles at you?
Maybe he knew that when he saw me.
I guess I just lost my balance.
I think that the worst part of it all wasn't losing him.
It was losing me.
Once upon a time, a few mistakes ago
I was in your sights, you got me alone
You found me, you found me, you found me
I guess you didn't care, and I guess I liked that
And when I fell hard you took a step back
Without me, without me, without me
And he's long gone when he's next to me
And I realize the blame is on me
'Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
Oh, oh, trouble, trouble, trouble
No apologies. He'll never see you cry,
Pretends he doesn't know that he's the reason why
You're drowning, you're drowning, you're drowning
Now I heard you moved on from whispers on the street
A new notch in your belt is all I'll ever be
And now I see, now I see, now I see
He was long gone when he met me
And I realize the joke is on me, yeah!
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been
'Til you put me down, oh
I knew you were trouble when you walked in
So shame on me now
Flew me to places I'd never been

So shame on me now

Rewriting Wicked as “No One Mourns the Terrorists”
Kristin Chenoweth -- No One Mourns the Terrorists:
[CITIZENS OF ISRAEL]
Good news!
She's gone!
The Slave from Egypt is gone!
The wickedest Slave there ever was
The enemy of all of us here in Israel is gone!
Good news!
Good news!
[SOMEONE IN THE CROWD]
Look! It's Sarah!
[SARAH]
Fellow Israelites...
Let us be glad
Let us be grateful
Let us rejoicify that goodness could subdue
The wicked workings of you-know-who
Isn't it nice to know?
That good will conquer evil?
The truth we all believe'll by and by
Outlive a lie
For you and —
[SOMEONE IN THE CROWD]
No one mourns the Wicked!
[ANOTHER PERSON]
No one cries: "They won't return!"
[ALL]
No one lays a lily on their grave
[MAN]
The good man scorns the Wicked!
[WOMEN]
Through their lives, our children learn
[ALL]
What we miss
When we misbehave
[SARAH]
And goodness knows
The Wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The Wicked die alone
It just shows, when you're wicked
You're left only on your own
[ALL]
Yes, goodness knows
The Wicked's lives are lonely
Goodness knows
The Wicked cry alone
Nothing grows for the wicked
They reap only what they've sown
[SARAH]
Are people born Wicked? Or do they have Wickedness thrust upon them?
After all, she had a father. She had a mother, as so many do...
[ABRAHAM]
How I hate to go and leave you lonely
[SARAH]
That's alright, it's only just one night
[ABRAHAM]
But know that you're here in my heart when I'm out of your sight
[SARAH]
And like every family, they had their secrets
[HAGAR]
Have another drink, my dark eyed beauty
I've got one more night left here in town
So have another drink of green elixir
And we'll have ourselves a little mixer
Have another little swallow, baby daddy
And follow me down
[SARAH]
And of course, from the moment he was born, he was, well, different...
[HAGAR]
It's coming!
[ABRAHAM]
Now?
[HAGAR]
The baby's coming!
[ABRAHAM]
And how!
[HAGAR AND ABRAHAM]
I see a wild
ass of a man
It's a healthy, perfect
Lovely, little —
[ABRHAM]
Sweet Yahweh!
[SARAH]
What is it? What's wrong?
[HAGAR]
How can it be?
[ABRAHAM]
What does it mean?
[HAGAR]
El Roi Willing!
[ABRAHAM]
It's a wild ass!
[HAGAR AND ABRAHAM]
Like a froggy, ferny cabbage
The baby is unnaturally...
[ALL]
...evil!
[ABRAHAM]
Take it away... take it away!
[SARAH]
So you see, it couldn't have been easy!
[ALL]
No one mourns the Wicked!
Now at last, she's cursed and gone!
Now at last, there's joy throughout the land
And Goodness knows
We know what Goodness is
Goodness knows
The Wicked die alone
[SARAH]
She died alone...
[ALL]
Woe to those (Woe to those)
Who spurn what Goodnesses
They are shown
No one mourns the Wicked
[SARAH]
Good news!
[CROWD]
No one mourns the Wicked!
[SARAH]
Good news!
[ALL]
No one mourns the Wicked!
Wicked!
Wicked!

Designing a Responsive Website Around a 980-Pixel Core
10:00 p.m.
Some websites, they have responsive scale.
So, it scales automatically to the viewing desktop, laptop, mobile or tablet device.
But I was told, the majority might need 0 px to 980 pixels; most browsers need 0-980 pixels.
I personally prefer to go above or beyond that.
If you look at FB, or Amazon, it is clear, the site starts at the corner; widescreen corner.
In the middle of FB, you have between 0 px to 980 px, the important stuff.
On the left, you have some menu and search field; could even be interpolated anchor menu with website site anchor links to anchors within the master app.
On right, you have Jachin, I mean, you have your home/ user member menu options.
I have no clue, but I assume, the Facebook website is responsive.
I cannot be bothered, but if I look at it from an old PC, the website should automatically adjust in size.
It is best, wise to keep my firm's website between 0 to 980 px just to be safe.
As a general rule in politics, you go for 80% popularity, as that way you win elections; holding for instance, as Solomon Bandaranaike, the Tamil minority captive.
Just for avoidance of confusion or doubt, some of the elements in our website, are responsive.
So, for instance, there is a container box in which a slide show is placed.
The container box is set between 0 to 980 px, and is attached to a slide strip or banner.
Our website has 5 strips, plus a 6th footer strip. I manually set the height of the strips to 666 px.
The header is 47 px. I guess, it is between 0 and 47, you cannot see the 0 pixel mark on the ruler.
***
It is not a big deal.
I mean, it is aesthetics.
I can live without it starting at instead 0 px at - 60 px or - 120 px or whatever.
██████████████ probably has a responsive site, it starts at the left hand edge, ends at the right hand edge.
It is not such a big deal.
Testing 0-to-980-Pixel Layouts in a Narrow Window
10:15 p.m.
(b)
If you stretch minimised window to widescreen, simulating responsive scalability;
You see that it displays properly, but it is again, wise to just stay between 0 to 980 pixels.
The one above is starting at 0 pixels or px
The one below starts off at -60 or -120 pixels or px.
The results as a minimised window to replicate certain narrow window browser screens is left vs right in prior entry -- which is why you use 0 to 980 px
Removing the Pentagram Logo and Shrinking the Menu

(c)
I also decided to take out the upside down pentagram shaded gold logo out of our website.
This is still found within the company logo here: https://static.wixstatic.com/media/aad220_2755dcddaf69403ea3ea08fb618f5113~mv2.png/v1/fill/w_165,h_160,al_c,q_85,usm_0.66_1.00_0.01/logo%20cc.webp

I am a minimalist, it is best to go with this.
I also made the menu's font into a smaller font, I made company name smaller font, from 20 px to 18 px.
I made menu options smaller from 18 px to 16 px and manually positioned it smaller.

Sharing the “Napalm in the Morning” Scene From Apocalypse Now
11:00 p.m.
(c)
I love this scene:
MEDIUM SHOT - SURF - THE TWO SURFERS
out on the water on their boards, trying to surf.
KILGORE (O.S.)
(through megaphone)
Okay, fellas, quit hiding. Let's
go, dickheads, take off.
ANGLE ON KILGORE, HOLDING A MEGAPHONE
watching the surfers. JETS SCREAM overhead, FIRING CANNONS.
Helicopters wheel by carrying out wounded.
WILLARD
Goddamnit! Don't you think it's a
little risky for R and R?
KILGORE
If I say it's safe to surf this
beach Captain, it's safe to surf
this beach! I mean, I'm not afraid
to surf this place! I'll surf
this f***ing place!
He rips off his shirt and scarf.
KILGORE
(to soldier)
Give me that R-T, soldier.
(into radio)
Dove Four, this is Big Duke Six.
Goddamnit, I want that tree line
bombed!
BOMBER PILOT (OVER RADIO)
Big Duke Six, Roger. Dove One-
Three, stand by.
KILGORE (O.S.)
(into radio)
Bomb them into the stone age, son.
He throws the R-T back to the soldier. We SEE from among
the Vietnamese prisoners being herded, a woman running,
covered with blood, carrying a bloody baby. She is trying
to offer it up to the colonel, but a soldier is dutifully
trying to keep away from him.
SOLDIER
No, ma'am, no!
KILGORE
Let me take care of this now.
(indicates soldier's
rifle)
Get that out of here!
Kilgore intercedes, pushing the soldier's rifle away.
KILGORE
(to woman)
Come here, now. All right. Sorry,
you can't go!
He takes the wounded baby in his hands, tenderly, and calls
a soldier over.
KILGORE
Jimmy!
ANGLE ON "LOC" SPOTTER PLANE IN THE SKY
LOC (OVER RADIO)
Hawk One-Two, Dove One-Three.
They need some napalm down there.
Can you put it there?
FIGHTER PILOT (OVER RADIO)
Right, One-Three. We're fixed to
f*** with them.
LOC (OVER RADIO)
Trying to suppress some mortar
fire off the tree line down there.
FIGHTER PILOT (OVER RADIO)
Roger. Here we come.
LOC (OVER RADIO)
Good. Give it all you got and
bring in all your ships. Wing
abreast.
KILGORE
(to Jimmy)
Tell them to get my chopper, get
back to the hospital.
He hands the baby to the soldier. Woman protests.
KILGORE
No, no . You've got to go with
him. Go! Go!
(to soldier)
Get it out of here! And tell my
guys I want my board!
LOC (OVER RADIO)
Big Duke Six, this is Dove One-
Three. The jets are inbound now.
They got about thirty seconds to
bomb station. Get your people
back. This is gonna be a big one.
Kilgore returns to Lance, who is cowering in a foxhole
with Willard.
KILGORE
Don't worry. We'll have this place
cleaned up in a jiffy, son. Give
me those shorts.
He turns to his aide, who hands him a pair of Air-Cav
trunks.
KILGORE
(to Lance)
These are from the Air-Cav, a
present from me and the boys. I
wanna see you do your stuff out
there.
Jets break the trees, we HEAR the EXPLOSIONS of 20mm
CANNONS, and then the entire tree line ERUPTS INTO FIRE
with an immense amount of napalm.
Kilgore stands there, hands on hips, looking at the burning
jungle in the distance.
KILGORE
You smell that? Do you smell that?
LANCE
What?
KILGORE
(pointing to trees)
Napalm, son. Nothing else in the
world smells like that.
(crouches down)
I love the smell of napalm in the
morning. You know, one time we
had a hill bombed for twelve
hours...and when it was all over,
I walked up. We didn't find one
of them, not one stinking dink
body. The smell, you know that
gasoline smell? The whole hill-
smelled like-victory.
He looks of nostalgically. A shell comes in and HITS in
the background. Willard and the soldiers react; Kilgore
ignores it.
KILGORE
Someday this war's gonna end.
A tremendous sadness enveloping him. The he stands up and
walks off. Willard turns and looks toward him. He
understands what the colonel is saying to him.

Hunger, Maggi Noodles and Fear of the Microwave
12:45 a.m.
I am a bit hungry.
I hate the Sri Lankan food available--
I went downstairs, in the kitchen, there is fried rice in the fridge, which I could heat and eat.
But I hate it.
I prefer Maggi Ramen noodles cooked al dente my way which is probably unhealthy according to some doctor girl I talked to on Tinder.
But whatever.
I do not like healthy foods.
I like bacon and I like alcohol and I like smoking too--although, I never smoke tobacco
I only smoke socially, with my cousins
I will just do work now.
I guess, if I get very hungry, I will use the hot water in our water dispenser
Or else, just eat Maggi uncooked, as I did, as a child.
It is disgusting, I hate the people here, I hate my mum, she has stolen my kettle--
I will be very nasty to her soon and take back my electric kettle, saying, "buy your own".
She locked the living room door, so I cannot get it.
I saw chocolate biscuits downstairs, very low quality, commercial stuff in SL.
I am scared to eat after brushing my teeth.
I also want tea.
I can buy a new kettle. It is not a big deal. I am annoyed by her massively.
I am scared to use the microwave downstairs to heat or boil water or cook Maggi--
I fear the radiation because I cannot see it and I do not fully understand it --
and if the BBC or NHS says research says it does not cause cancer--
then, I am more worried that there was research done on this in the first place.
When I went downstairs, I saw my used plates and soup bowl, which Manju will clean tomorrow.
I am a bit lazy, but I sort of cleaned my spoon, without soap, and then went upstairs.
I remembered that guy, the Sith guy from The Mandalorian, in Breaking Bad.
